Student burnout in Dutch higher education

Burnout refers to a psychological, physical, cognitive and emotional state that results from prolonged exposure to chronic stress or pressure. Burnout includes both primary and secondary symptoms. Primary symptoms refer to the core components of burnout, including exhaustion, mental distance, cognitive and emotional impairment.
